Fifty Ways to Play

This illustration was created for a challenge: making a poster design out of fifty things. I had recently adopted a kitten and was realizing how many everyday objects in my life my cat loved to play with, so I decided to make that the theme of the poster. Approximately half of the objects depicted in the poster are actually cat toys, and the other half are cat toys as well—we humans just don't realize it yet. I collected all the objects from around my home and arranged them on the floor to create the layout. I then painted each at life-size with colorful acrylic ink and bold outlines, making each object look enticing and fun. Whether you're a cat lover, an artist, or just someone who enjoys a fresh perspective on the ordinary, this poster is a whimsical tribute to the way our pets turn the world into their playground.
